Make Wonderville.org one of your supplemental NGSS resources

We know you want the best teacher tools and learning resources for your science teaching staff. The count down is on for Wonderville.org’s new school and administrator release. Find out more about our supplemental resource and why you should make it part of your program.

Why you need Wonderville.org

We offer a comprehensive STEM blended learning platform that supports students and teachers in grades 4 – 9. We do this by seamlessly integrating the classroom experience with digital tools and real-world experiences and interactions, and pushing students to question and discover the world around them through the lens of STEM.

Wonderville provides small to mid-sized school districts with the highest quality STEM teaching and learning resources of any STEM-based blended learning platform. We test our resources with teachers and students to eliminate barriers to learning, consult with industry experts and academia to ensure our resources are scientifically accurate and, and deliver interdisciplinary lesson plans, project-based lessons and assessments that align to standards.

The count down is on – sign up for a demo now!

Wonderville.org is launching its administrator functionality soon! Be among the first to sign up for a demo to get a sneak peek at all the features this new release will offer. You and your science teachers will wonder what you did before you started using Wonderville.org.

With Wonderville’s new administrator and teacher portals, you will have access to ready-to-teach lesson plans, quizzes, assessments, student accounts, a sharing community, reporting and more. It will quickly become your go-to curriculum. Check out the sample lesson plans below.

Lesson plan 1 - Reduce, reuse, recycle

Grade 5

This lesson focuses on how scientific understanding of waste and the impact of food waste on the environment can help to inform human behavior. Inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the zero waste movement, students are challenged to create a campaign and conduct data collection as evidence for impacting community actions (suitable for 5-ESS3).

Lesson plan 2 - Nanotechnology for human health

Grades 9 – 12

What does nano mean, and why is it relevant today and for our future? In this lesson, students will research an application of nanotechnology in the health care or medical field in order to understand how nanotechnology is applied in practice. They are then challenged to create infographics and build 3D models at scale to share their knowledge with audiences beyond the classroom. The lesson emphasizes self-directed and collaborative learning, and motivates students through exposure of their work to real-world audiences (suitable for HS-ETS1).

Lesson plan 3 - Hearing and sound

Grade 4

This STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)-based lesson builds on student understanding of sound waves and vibrations and challenges students to construct a unique musical instrument. Through modeling, students will illustrate their scientific knowledge of wavelength behavior, and through their instrument design they will apply this theory to sound and music creation (suitable for 4-PS4).

Lesson plan 4 - Exploring solar energy

Grades 6 – 8

This design thinking project tasks students with the challenge: can they create a solar oven to heat or cook food? Students are introduced to renewable energy and energy transfer while they apply their knowledge to the creation of a solar oven prototype that they test and iterate on in order to maximize efficiency (suitable for MS-PS3).

Lesson plan 5 - Co2 and the carbon cycle

Grades 6 – 8

Students will examine how the natural carbon cycle is impacted by human activity as well as explore how this activity contributes to carbon levels on Earth and in the atmosphere. They will also explore what actions they can take to limit rising carbon dioxide levels, a relevant global issue that students can explore through data analysis (suitable for MS-ESS2 & 3).
