Good news! The MindFuel scholarship program is now officially open for the 2017 year.

This year, we have added one additional scholarship to our roster. The ASTech Foundation award is new to the MindFuel scholarship program and will recognize a student entering a STEM field at an Alberta post-secondary institution (university, college or polytechnic). The ASTech award is tailor-made for students who are active in their community. Have you been involved in science fairs, 4H, Junior achievement or other community initiatives? This might be the one for you.

“MindFuel’s mission is to create the next generation of critical thinkers, innovators and problem-solvers.  Our scholarship program supports Alberta students on their academic journey to STEM-related careers,” said Cassy Weber, MindFuel CEO. “We are pleased to be partnering with the ASTech Foundation to expand the program so we may provide additional financial assistance to more students who pursue STEM studies.”

Students graduating from an Alberta high school and who are entering first year, full-time studies, in an undergraduate applied science or science education program at an Alberta-based post-secondary institution for fall 2017 are eligible to apply.

The scholarships were created in honour of the exemplary people who have helped MindFuel grow into the world-class organization it is today, scholarships are available in the names of James (Jim) Gray ($5,000), Anne Tingle ($2,500),  Dr. Arlene Ponting ($2,500) and ASTech Foundation ($2,500).

MindFuel is investing in Alberta’s youth and addressing the challenges facing our country and province; shortage of knowledge workers with an expertise in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and the ongoing need to build a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
