CADAR -rapidly detect the presence of a pathogen and destroy the identified microorganism

Team Grade Level: High School
STEM Focus:  Synthetic Biology

Our project, CRISPR-Assisted Detection and Removal (CADAR), utilized the unique properties of CRISPR-Cas13a technology to rapidly detect the presence of a pathogen and destroy the identified microorganism. This technology could be used to fight the growing concern of antibiotic resistance and prevent the over prescription of antibiotics.
