MobiSkeleton – a robotic exoskeleton to help children with mobility issues

Queen Elizabeth High School (Edmonton)

MobiSkeleton – We aim to enable people with both temporary and permanent mobility issues to increase their health and well-being through exoskeleton technology

Team Grade Level: High School
STEM Focus:  Robotics

This year we were working on exoskeleton technology, for medical and rehabilitative purposes. The work this year was a continuation of last years efforts, and we succeeded in reiterating the previous components to be more adaptable in terms of loading, patient size, and adding in mechanical stops to prevent joint hyper-extension. We also managed to get both lidar and ultrasonic sensors working, with the intention of progressing towards sensor integration into the exosuit.
